Concerts presented for (and with) students!

Toy Symphony features the string section of the MCO with delightful, familiar music for the young and young at heart. Journey with us through different styles of music and celebrate as students join the MCO for a collaborative performance!

This is a 45-minute production specially designed for school audiences and families. Recommended for grades K-8, with accessible and varied music, meaningful educational components, joyful connection, and the exciting opportunity for students and professional musicians to make music together!

In preparation for our collaborative performances, participating schools take part in classroom workshops and a rehearsal with the orchestra. Each collaboration and performance is unique, with flexibility to incorporate small and large groups, involve a variety of ages, and utilize available classroom instruments. Instruction and leading at the concert is also collaborative — a perfect opportunity for music and performing arts teachers looking for a memorable experience suited to their students and community.

Highlights from MCO Toy Symphony 2025/26

Thanks to Winnipeg School Division and Seven Oaks School Division for partnering with us for MCO Toy Symphony concerts in Winnipeg, and special thanks to École St-Malo School and J.R. Walkout School (Winkler) for hosting us in April and May! Each concert was a culmination and celebration of music-making, learning, and community, proudly shared with full audiences at Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre, Tec-Voc Theatre, and as part of MCO On Tour.
