What do you get when you put together a dash of Mozart, a pinch of Latin grooves, a scoop of Motown hits, and a sprinkling of '80s pop? An exciting concert experience created with, and for, students! This is an event to connect and inspire us all to share the joys of music-making.
The MCO is partnering with The Bridge: Music for Life, a program at Hugh John MacDonald School spearheaded by educator and jazz musician Neil Watson, for Mozart Meets Motown! A Musical Mashup. (Learn more about The Bridge program with a short documentary series from Jazz Winnipeg! Watch here)
We set the stage with the MCO String Trio, and over the next 45 minutes, bring more musicians onstage for a lively, multi-genre musical collaboration!
Whether you’re looking for a quick and accessible introduction to musical instruments and genres, or a way to inspire your young musicians to explore different styles of music-making and approaches to collaborating, it’s a perfect opportunity to extend your learning outside the classroom and expose your students to incredible music in one of Winnipeg’s coolest concert venues.
