We are thrilled to welcome Laura Friesen to the MCO team as our new Marketing and Communications Manager. Laura brings over 10 years of exceptional experience in Winnipeg’s arts sector, coupled with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement that will elevate the MCO’s reach and impact.

Laura joins the MCO from Jazz Winnipeg, where she served as Marketing and Communications Manager for over four years, guiding the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and its return to in-person festivals. She spearheaded strategic marketing, brand development, and audience engagement, contributing to the success of the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival and other programming. Prior to Jazz Winnipeg, Laura held communications roles at the National Screen Institute (NSI) and the Manitoba Children’s Museum, where she managed digital campaigns, PR strategies, and stakeholder communications.

Laura is a dynamic and highly skilled communicator whose creativity and strategic vision will help us reach new heights. Her impressive experience in the arts sector, paired with her dedication to building connections, makes her an ideal fit for the MCO.

Laura

When not crafting compelling marketing strategies, Laura enjoys exploring Winnipeg’s vibrant cultural scene and can always be found with a cup of coffee in hand. The MCO is excited to have Laura on board as we continue to expand our reach and inspire audiences through the power of music. Laura starts at the MCO on December 4, 2024.
