We're hiring a Community Engagement Coordinator (Summer Position) 

The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra (MCO) is hiring a full-time Community Engagement Coordinator for an 8-week summer position. This role is ideal for someone with an enthusiasm for music, community engagement, and digital communication, and who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in a creative, community-focused arts organization. 

MCO is a Winnipeg-based arts organization creating bold programming, meaningful collaborations, and deep community connections. We’re a small, passionate team committed to making life-changing musical experiences accessible to all. 

Your Role 

As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will support the MCO’s efforts to connect with audiences and strengthen community relationships. You’ll work closely with staff across community engagement and marketing, gaining experience in outreach, content creation, and arts administration. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support outreach to community organizations, schools, and local partners.
  • Collaborate with staff to build relationships with community partners.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of community-based activities.
  • Create and support digital content for social media, email campaigns, and website.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns related to audience engagement.
  • Provide administrative support, including data entry, database updates, and preparation of materials.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining program information and reporting.
  • Collect and organize feedback and data to support evaluation and future planning. 

About You 

  • You have experience in the arts, marketing, or community engagement.
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on a variety of tasks.
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy working with others.
  • You are comfortable using digital platforms (social media, email, design tools).
  • You are curious, proactive, and interested in learning new skills.
  • You have an interest in music or the arts (no formal training required).
  • A valid driver’s licence is an asset.  

Position Details 

  • Duration: 8 weeks (Summer 2026)
  • Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week) including some evenings and weekends as required
  • Compensation: $18/hour
  • Location: Winnipeg, MB (primarily in-office, with some flexibility) 

Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs Program) 

To be eligible for this position, applicants must: 

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
